Wind farm Målarberget

Vindpark Målarberget stretches across the municipal border between Avesta and Norberg and also across the county border between Västmanland and Dalarna. The wind farm with its 27 turbines is located about 5 km south of Avesta. The electricity produced in Vindpark Målarberget is distributed on Vattenfall's regional grid via a transformer station in the middle of Vindpark Målarberget and on to a switching station in Olofsfors. The land area for the wind farm is owned by Sveaskog and a number of private landowners.

The wind farm got its name from a height in the forest area right next to it. The area for the wind farm is well intersected by roads for the purposes of forestry and wind power, which are widely used for e.g. cycling and orienteering. The wind turbines are manufactured and erected by Vestas, who also perform service and maintenance work in the wind turbines.

Energy consult Sverige AB has the operational responsibility for the wind farm.
